Why Are So Many People Moving to Plano Texas?

Over the last decade, Plano Texas has grown its population by about 60,000 residents and is still one of the fastest growing suburbs in all of Texas! Why is this though? Plano is an amazing city with easy access to the amenities of a large metropolitan area. Plano has seen an influx of new residents in recent years, attracted by the city's low cost of living, excellent schools, and abundant job market. The population of Plano is expected to continue to grow in the coming years as more people discover all that the city has to offer.

Access To a Major Metropolitan Area

Plano is located less than 15 miles from downtown Dallas, and with Dallas North Tollway running right through Plano this gives residents easy access right into the heart of a major city in less than a 20 minute drive. You get the ability to visit the big city whenever you want, but get the low cost of living and high quality of life that comes with living in a suburb!

Low Cost Of Living

As mentioned above, Plano has a relatively low cost of living when it comes to the amount of amenities and features that bring a lot of added quality of life to residents living here. Whether its quick access to Dallas, the ability to shop or dine at many of the major shopping and entertainment plazas located in the city, or the low crime rate and strong police presence, all of these usually bump the cost of living up to almost even with the cost of living in the city itself. This being said, Plano’s cost of living does not reflect that, staying at around $500,000 which is definitely a fair price for what you get living in this neighborhood.

Abundance of Entertainment, Shopping, & Dining

Plano has a multitude of shopping centers, entertainment plazas, restaurants, and bars rivaling most neighborhoods in Dallas. There will never be a shortage of things to do with your friends and family. Everything from eating foods from different cultures, to shopping for anything you can imagine, or grabbing some drinks and hitting the dance floor, places like Willow Bend Mall, Shops at Legacy, Legacy West have you covered!

Thriving Employment Opportunity

Plano is known for its strong economy and low unemployment rate. It is home to many large companies, including Toyota, HP Enterprise, and FedEx Office. It is also home to several universities and colleges, which likely contribute to its strong job market. If you’re looking to get into a new industry, or looking for more opportunity to move up in the ranks in a large company, Plano is a great place to look.
