Austin Skyline

Welcome to peaceful Galindo

Galindo is a vintage Austin neighborhood with an ethnically diverse population, an active neighborhood association, and a strong sense of community.

About the Neighborhood

Galindo dates back to the 1950s and still retains much of its character from that era. Galindo is not as well known as some of the other south Austin neighborhoods, but it offers many of the same benefits to residents: proximity to the trendy boutiques, cafes, and clubs of south Austin, easy access to local highways, and lower housing costs compared to downtown.

This tour is a placeholder. A video for Galindo will be coming soon.

You’ll fall in love with

There are a few parks and playgrounds around Galindo, including The Tom Lasseter South Lamar Neighborhood Park, Zilker Park, and West Enfield Park. These playgrounds provide great recreational facilities for kids, as well as adults. Families can enjoy a nice picnic under the shade in summer months, or walk along the trail for a weekend activity with the kids.

Homes in Galindo

Galindo has many ranch-style, one-story homes built in the 1950s and 60s, up to the 1980s. Because it is somewhat farther from downtown than more well-known south Austin neighborhoods, housing is a little less expensive. Also, because St. Edward's University is nearby, there are rentals available for students.
